How ResortDeck Timber Composite Decking Enhanced for Improved Stability

Of all external timber construction, decking timbers are exposed to the most extreme conditions including weather, foot traffic, moisture, and UV exposure.

It’s hard to beat the aesthetic appeal of a beautiful silvered-off timber deck, but innovations in the decking category have seen the rise in sophisticated composite technology. Ranges like ResortDeck achieve the look and texture of a natural timber deck with the added enhancements of structural stability, longevity and low maintenance.

The innovative capped composite range has a co-extruded ultra matt polymer that encapsulates each board to make it impervious to moisture. ResortDeck is made of 95% recycled material: 35–40% high-density polyethylene and 60–65% wood fibre. HDPE is non-toxic, does not leach, is strong, lightweight, and recyclable. The boards are splinter-free, and are scratch, fade and mould resistant, plus there is no need for nails, staining, oiling or painting.

Innovations don’t just apply to the decking boards but also to the traditional timber structure the boards are installed onto. This construction methodology is also exposed to harsh conditions and has inspired solutions such as Outdure’s patented exterior flooring system QwickBuild, which replaces ripped timber joists and bearers with a value-engineered exterior flooring system with multi-surface capabilities and applications.
